2005 in short

And so, I proudly declare that the 2005 school year has officially begun. In fact, it's been a whole week since the first of January. The first 5 days of school has been very different compared to the years before. Firstly, because the school is under construction and many routes have been blocked up. It was hard getting myself orientated at first, but I soon got used to it. Secondly, the classrooms are also a bit too large. Actually, I'd say that it was made too wide or something. We barely use half the width of the classrooms. Instead, most of us in the class have moved our seats closer to the middle so that we can all see the white board from our seats. Anyhow, I've sorta checked out the place a bit. I know most of the routes already, but the school somehow feels different. *sigh* I'll miss the 'old' MGS. It WAS where I grew up in anyway. The new science block is awesome and all, but it doesn't quite fit in. It's painted grey for one thing and another is that it's so newish looking compared to the other parts of the school. It reminds me more of an office than a school building. At least we've got new Lecture Theatres now. The flag raising ceremonies are also a tad queer. We don't have flag raising on days that are raining. Due to the fact that there is no place for us to stand at attention and not get wet in the process. But since every classroom has this tacky looking plastic flag on the wall, we're supposed to stand at attention in class and say the pledge to it.
This brings me to the next thing about my class. There are so many new people in the school, expecially foreign scholars. They're nice and all, but they're like 2 years our senior and they've already covered more than half of the total syllabus. I mean I don't get it, why do they come to Singapore to learn Sec 3 work that they've already done back at home? Well, I'm going to find out one day. My teachers are okay I guess, for now. Haven't really got to know them really well yet. I'm going to be with them for the next 2 years so I should definitely try my best to stay out of trouble with them. We've started on the first topic of every subject already I think. I can't believe that I had a quiz on the first week of school. Then again, this should have been expected. I mean it was supposed to happen. Nothing I could have done to stop it from happening.
Another thing, my schedule for this year is so packed, I don't think a grain of sand could fit into it right now. Everyday of my week is taken up by some activity somehow. And these don't just last until 3pm or something like that, it's lasts until 5/6pm in the evening. I wonder how I'm going to go for them and finish my homework at the same time. Not to mention tests and exams that I would eventually have to study for. This is certainly going to be a problem that won't be easy to solve. Presently, I'm coping fine, but what can I say about the first week of school. I mean everyone else should be doing fairly well too. I just hope I can make it through this term and the next as well. OBS is also another problem. It's so early! They're nutz to schedule it so early in the year. It's from the 31st of Jan to the 4th of Feb.
Anyway, have to go soon. I'm trying to sleep earlier, now that it's the weekend and I can sleep a little earlier. At least I hope so, OR I could always wake up later. Haha, in my dreams. Well, bye!
